Visiting Assistant Professor
Bio
Pablo Hernandez is an enthusiastic oboist and dedicated music educator, currently serving as the Visiting Assistant Professor of Oboe at the University of Southern Mississippi. He has established a diverse performance career, appearing as a guest artist, soloist, clinician, and chamber musician both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Hernandez often collaborates with his wife, cellist Romina Monsanto, in their duo, New Duobus, which focuses on expanding the repertoire for cello and oboe. Among his notable recordings are “Portraits Bizarre” by C.L. Shaw and the award-winning film score for “Vento.” As an advocate for contemporary music, Dr. Hernandez is excited to perform and discover compositions that may be unfamiliar to audiences, helping to bridge different cultures and introduce new voices to the academic community.
